Now In Print: Sumu Residence

We have had our hands full with a number of projects lately, but are excited to share that a recent project of ours has been published and is available for purchase here.

Thanks to Harper Collins Publishing and Francesc Zamora you can now find the Sumu Residence in 150 Best of the Best Apartment Ideas’ alongside so many other amazing projects and designers.

We want to extend an additional Thank You to an amazing team of craftsmen, millworkers, and builders who’s work created the beautiful apartment. Stunning materials like flooring from Dinesen and millwork from Henrybuilt really brought the design to life. We were also able to create a refined yet eclectic interior with furniture from a variety of sources; well established, local, and even burgeoning companies alike. To name a few, we selected pieces from Design Within Reach, Blu Dot, Beam Brooklyn, and Artifox to complete the interior.

The design principals of Scandinavian minimalism and Japanese interconnectedness creates an unencumbered and functional interior the promotes wellness and inspires tranquility. A centralized cube consolidates all of the required program for each adjacent space, further freeing up the plan.

Along with the original crown molding, the 12 foot ceiling were preserved to take advantage of the sunlight spilling in both ends of the apartment. Neutral gray tones, soft white, and white washed woods provide a very light and airy interior that also has an air of warmth and comfort.
